Why I still need my mom

Jerry and I had an eventful Sunday night/ Monday morning!  All day Sunday I was feeling crummy.  I had a temperature, but I was certain that I would be fine the next morning.  I was wrong.

Fast-forward to 12 AM on Monday morning.  Reagan starts crying and Jerry goes into her room to check on her.  Next thing I know, Jerry is throwing up in the bathroom and has literally passed out and has blood all over face.  At the same time, ways of nausea are starting to hit me.  It was my turn to get sick.  All this is happening and Reagan is screaming in her room.

I seriously thought I was going have to take Jerry to the hospital.  So many thoughts are going through my head.... "How will I drive him if I'm still throwing up?"  "I really don't want to expose Reagan to the emergency room germs."  "Is this a dream?"

So what do I do?  I call my mom in the middle of the night.  The conversation went something like this:

Me:  Hey.  What are you doing?
Mom: ummmm sleeping...
Me:  Well, Jerry's puking and bleeding everywhere because he passed out and I'm throwing up too.
Mom:  Oh my gosh, I'll be right there

And she was at our house within 20 minutes.  My mom took Reagan so she wouldn't be around all the germs.  We decided Jerry's face was okay and didn't need stitches.

All I can say is thank goodness for my mom.  Seriously, she totally came to the rescue. I'm so grateful for her.  Anytime I need her, she is always there.

This got me thinking about Reagan and how I want her to feel the same way about me.  I want her to know I will always be there just like my mom is for me.  I want her to know that she can call me in the middle of the night for anything.   I want to be the calming person when life is crazy.  I have big shoes to fill, but I have an excellent role model to look up to.

Mom- I love you so much and I am beyond grateful for you.  I am not ashamed to say that I still need you.  Thank for rescuing us.  You are the best.

Oh and if you are wondering,  I am feeling much better and Jerry is so so.  We are thinking it was a 24 hour bug.  Jerry's face is a bit banged up from passing out (we aren't really sure what he hit it on.)  Although not funny at the time, Jerry and I can't help but laugh about last night.  I mean seriously... you can't make this stuff up.
