Thanksgiving and Turkey Trot

Thanksgiving was a little different this year. This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with Jerry's fam in Austin the day after Haley and Bretton's wedding. It was really nice to see everyone after the wedding. I think everyone could breathe easy knowing that the wedding went perfect. We celebrated Thanksgiving with my family the day before Thanksgiving. We had our get together at Lauren and Dave's house. It's so funny how much our family has expanded in just one year. We had 19 people at our Thanksgiving! This is a huge increase considering last year we just had a maximum 11 people. It's so nice seeing family and spending quality time with everyone.

So by the time Thanksgiving finally arrived, Jerry and I had nothing to do. Believe me... I am not complaining! It is so nice to sit at home and just hang. Lately, me and Jerry have been packing on the lbs....so we decided about a month ago to run the Turkey Trot in Fort Worth. The Turkey Trot is a 5k or 10k race that is in both Fort Worth and Dallas. We did the 5k in Fort Worth. We got up this morning at 6:45 and arrived just in time to park, take pictures of doggies, check in, and take our goodie bags back to the truck. It was perfect timing, I must say- even though Jerry was about to have a heart attack because he thought we were going to miss the race. There were dogs everywhere! I was in heaven! We didn't take Lucy and Rowdy... lets face it... they aren't the best behaved dogs. We ran the race in an even 30 minutes-- 10 minute mile not bad! It felt kind of like we ran a 10k because we had to zig-zag between walkers and baby strollers. It was so much fun! There were people dressed up like turkeys and even a 3 legged dog running the race- talk about overcoming your disability!

When we got home, Jerry made yummy waffles and ever since we been hanging low watching TV, napping, and eating. This is the life! Pretty soon were going to put up Christmas Stuff!!! I've been waiting so long!

Here are some pictures of the race:

Pre-race!

A dad- the chef and his daughter- the turkey! Too cute!

A large poodle. I've never seen a large poodle in my entire life. I've only seen the mini's. Today, I saw 3!

Henry and Mudge dog! I must have one!

This is just a random picture that I like. Please notice the cuteness of Rowdy and Lucy. I was in heaven!

I hope everyone has an amazing Thanksgiving!
