Dallas Arboretum

This past Sunday we decided to take Reagan to the Dallas Arboretum.  We got there around 9ish and stayed until 11ish.  After the Dallas Arboretum we decided to be brave and go to lunch at Matt's.  We had a blast! Here are some pictures:

This area will be fun for Reagan maybe next summer.  It's a little splash area for kids to play in.

This might seem silly, but Jerry and I were really proud of ourselves for taking Reagan out for the day.  I told Jerry a while back, "I feel like we are playing house."  He agreed and added, "Except it's for real!"  Each time I go out with Reagan, I feel more and more confident.  I really enjoy getting her out and I think she does too.  We are by no means perfect, but we are starting to get our grove.

In other news, Reagan has recently started to put herself to sleep in her crib (most of the time)!  We have been working really hard on not letting her fall asleep on us all the time (maybe just once a day.)  It's taken us a couple of weeks, but Reagan is doing it!  You go girl!

2 Months!

Reagan is 2 months!  I can't believe it!  Where has the time gone!

So here are some facts about Reagan at 2 months:

She loves to go on walks in the mornings.  That has become our morning routine.  It works out perfectly.  Usually Reagan wakes up between 6-7(we are working on getting her to sleep until 7, but she pretty much does what she wants :))  I feed her and get dressed and then we head up to the Ballpark.  I have discovered that 1 lap around the Ballpark is about half a mile.  I try to walk/jog 4-5 laps around the stadium.  I'm really out of shape, but you have to start somewhere.   Reagan sleeps the entire time.    I like going there because there are lots of people, security, and shade.  Karen also bought this fan for her in the car.  We love it!

Reagan is also full of smiles!  She's happiest after she eats, but I guess who isn't?  She loves when we smack our lips and make silly sounds.  She has also begun tracking and moving her head to sounds and toys. She makes me so proud!

This super cute outfit was made by Cindy!  Reagan is definitively a future KD Lady!

Reagan also enjoys playing on her play mat!  She kicks her legs and gets really excited.  It's just so stinking cute!

As far as sleep goes, Reagan is a pretty good sleeper.  On July 3rd and 4th she slept for 8 hours straight!  Can I get a hallelujah?!  Jerry said he kept on waking up and checking to make sure she was still breathing.  I was so proud.  We are moving in the right direction Reagan!  Keep it up!  We have discovered that Reagan likes to go to bed between 7:45-8:45 and wake up between 5:45-7.  I'm sure I won't be saying this in a month or so, but I kind of like getting up with her at 3 am.  It's like our own little special snuggle time.  She also is a sleep walker.  She moves all over that crib!  It's so funny.

This is me trying to get a picture of her before she takes a nap... haha

Reagan loves bath time.  Jerry is in charge of baths most of the time.  He's so good with her.  Her favorite part is "free time" at the very end.  Her least favorite part is getting out of the tub.

Eating is also another favorite activity.  This little girl can eat!  During the day she usually eats every 2.5-3 hours.  Usually at night she eats every 4.5-5 hours.  I've noticed the past couple of days she is eating 12-18 minutes as oppose to 25ish minutes.  I was a little worried, but I read that babies usually become more efficient eaters around this age.

I love her so much.  These 2 months have really flown by.  I can't wait to see what this next month has in store for us.  We love you Reagan!

4th of July

Happy Independence Day!  We had a great time spending time with family and friends.
The morning of the 4th we went to Jerry's grandmother's retirement community.  There they had a golf cart parade and a luncheon.  Here are some pictures:

 Here they come!

 Granny with Reagan

After visiting with Granny, George, Glenn, and Jane we went over to Rustin and Amanda's house.  It was really fun visiting with friends.  Amanda is 36 weeks pregnant.  We can't wait to meet Miss Mackenlie!  Her, Reagan, and Easton are going to be best buds!

This is a picture of Reagan and her 4th of July tutu.  Thanks Megan for precious outfit!

The next day we went over to my parents house for yummy brisket!  Reagan and Claire Bear hung out.  Claire is such a sweet cousin.  She helped me lay the blanket out and set up the toys for Reagan.  I can already tell Claire, Luke, and Reagan are going to be best friends.

Our first 4th of July as parents was a success!  I hope everyone had a great 4th!

The Peterson's meet Reagan

This past weekend Larry, Karen, and Walker came into town to meet Reagan.  It was so great seeing them.  Reagan was pretty fussy the entire weekend, but that's just how it goes.  We were so happy to show off our angel.  Here are some pictures:

Uncle Walker!  This picture makes me smile.  It's like Reagan is looking at Walker saying, "Hello!"

Nana!

This is Mamaw holding Reagan and Mary.  Mary is Jerry's cousin's baby that was born in February.  So cute!!

We had a great time visiting and can't wait to see y'all again!

On Father's Day, John, Susan, Haley, Granny, George, Jane, and Glenn came over to celebrate.  Here are some pictures:

We had a great time visiting with family!

June stuff

Summer is officially here and it is HOT!  Reagan is growing and growing.  It's so fun seeing her development.  Here are some pictures from the past couple of weeks:

Ladies and gentlemen we have a smile!  Such a sweet little face and perfect little smile!
This is Jerry's new thing.  He likes to have Reagan "sneak up" on me.  This was Reagan's latest sneak attack.  I was laughing so hard.
Since my last post we celebrated my 27th birthday.  Jerry got me this awesome bike!  I love it!  Reagan gave me the gift of sleep.  On the 12 and 13th she slept 5 hours straight!  I was in heaven!  For my birthday I just wanted a low key night.  Jerry and I made a pizza casserole dish from Pinterest.  It was delish and I loved spending time with my sweet family.
Oh hey Miss Thang!
Mommy and Reagie!
This is a picture of a bottle and no nipple.  I was so proud of myself for being showered, dressed (both Reagan and I), and out of the door on time.  As I pulled into the doctor's office in Fort Worth and I realized I brought a bottle with no nipple.  MOM FAIL!
The nurses were super nice and let me feed her in the exam rooms.
Jerry also celebrated his first Father's Day.  Jerry is such a sweet Daddy!  I love watching him talk to Reagan.  Reagan loves Jerry so much!  It's so fun seeing her smile at Jerry when he comes home from work.
 Snuggle time with my Reagie!
This is a book Jerry bought on his way to Virginia.   He insisted I read it, but I told him it's kind of hard to find time to read these days.  So he bought the audio book for me so I could listen to it in the middle of late night feedings.  Let me just tell you, this book is AWESOME!  As I was listening at 3 AM, I would be laughing or crying depending on the chapter.  The last chapter was about his son in NICU.  Although Reagan was nowhere near the extreme of his son, I could still relate to feeling sick seeing your baby being poked, having cords everywhere, constant beeping of machines, and simply wanting to get the heck out of NICU.  This book is recommended for new parents.  Fair warning- this book is hilarious, but does have some language.

These days Reagan and I are enjoying our summer vacation.  In the mornings we like to walk around the ballpark around 8 or 9.  It's nice and cool at that time and there is a lot of shade.  I also feel safe with all the security up there.  Reagan and I have made friends with the security officers.  They are really nice.  After our workout we hang out the rest of the day.  Occasionally we will meet people for lunch or have a visitor.

Most days are good, but occasionally we will have difficult days and nights  I'm not going to pretend like it's rainbows all the time.  However, those difficult days make the good days all that much better.  I love Reagan so much!  yay!

1 month

Reagan was officially 1 month old on June 5.  So here are some interesting facts about our little angel:

-Weight: 10lbs 1oz- 75th percentile
-Height: 21.65 in- 75th percentile
-Head size: 55th percentile

- Reagan loves to eat!!   It's almost like clockwork every 2 1/2 to 3 hours she is ready to eat.

-She loves to be be snuggled and held close.  In fact, she is snuggling on my chest right this moment. Such a sweetie.

- She sometimes likes to have parties in the middle of the night. We are still working on this. During this time she is not fussy(unless we put her down). She just wants to be held and snuggled.

-She's a girl that knows what she wants. When we are changing her diaper and are not fast enough or if we set her down in her crib before she's ready.....oh dear. This girl has got some lungs!

-She never wants to miss out on the action. When she's tired she fights going to sleep.  Her eyes will be really heavy and I think okay she's falling asleep...next thing I know, her eyes are wide open.  My mom and Jane said Jerry and I did the same thing.

-She is getting so big!  She is also too long for her newborn sleepers and onesies.  My sweet baby is getting so big!!

-Reagan sleeps in her crib.  She started sleeping there about 2 weeks ago. So far it's okay. Some nights are good and some nights are not so good. But this is a working progress and she's doing great!

-She likes to be in motion. In the car she does not like it when the car is stopped. She also likes her stroller, but only when we are moving.

and we are done taking pictures!

Reagan you are the most wonderful thing in the entire world.  I love you so much.  My life is forever changed for the better because of you.
