Spring Break and Reagan Update

Spring Break has been amazing!  Most of my days were spent either in my pj's, shopping for Reagan's nursery, or cleaning.  I also completed all of Reagan's Cord Blood stuff.  I'm so grateful for this week!  I feel rested and ready to take on the next 9 weeks of pregnancy!

Here are some pictures of my trusty cuddle buddy- Rowdy:

Exhausted from a long days work ;)
Look who decided to join the cuddle parade:

In the past couple of weeks, Jerry and I have taken a couple of classes.  On March 5, we took Baby Basics.  Our instructor was hilarious!  She looked and acted just like Tina Fey.  She had everyone laughing the entire time.  Then on March 14 we took Infant CPR and first aid.  This class was pretty cut and dry, but still good information to know.  Here's a picture of our CPR baby.

We also had our maternity pictures done.  We are using Paige Walker Photography.  I love her work! She is actually one of Andrea's sister's best friends.  Oh did I mention she graduated from Texas Tech and was a Kappa Delta.  She will be doing Reagan's newborn, 3 month, 6 month, and 1 year pictures.  I didn't even think about this until my sister mentioned it, but I wore the same colors in my engagement pictures.  Here are a couple of sneak peeks:

Jerry's coworkers threw him a baby shower this week.  It was so thoughtful of his coworkers to do this.  Jerry is lucky guy to be able to work with such nice people.  Here is a picture of a beautiful quilt that was given to us by Jerry's bosses:
We also received our  awesome stroller this week!  Karen, Larry, and Walker purchased this for us.  It is perfect!  We were so excited that we decided to take it for a joy ride around the house.  Thank you Karen, Larry, and Walker for the AWESOME stroller and carrier!  Reagan will be looking super cool!  Here is Jerry putting it together.
Reagan's room is pretty much done!  I'm so excited!  It's exactly how I pictured it!  I'll put pictures up soon.... I still need to add a few finishing touches! Jerry has been such a great sport!  He's painted, put together furniture, and hung pictures without any complaints!  I'm a lucky lady :)
Reagan update:
I went to the doctor on Thursday and Reagan is going great!  She is measuring 32 weeks which is about a week and a half ahead.  Reagan now weighs over 3 pounds!  In the past couple of weeks she has developed her eyelashes.  She is pretty lazy during the day, but decides to have a party at night.  When she really gets going, my belly looks crazy!

Carolyn update:
Sleep: I am sleeping okay.  My allergies are going crazy.  It makes it kind of hard to sleep with a stuffy nose.
Missing anything:  Happy Hour.  The weather this past week has been perfect for patio parties!
Food Cravings: Lately, I've been kind of blah towards food.  Nothing really sounds that great.
Exercise: still trying to exercise 2-3 times a week.  My workouts have been less strenuous.  It seems like it doesn't take much to get my heart rate up.
Food Aversions: none really
Symptoms: I'm starting to feel tired.  However, I refuse to believe it's because of the pregnancy.  I'm blaming my tiredness on allergies.

Happy or Moody: Happy and emotional.  The other day I was driving to my appointment and I started to think about how in just a couple of months Jerry and I would be making this drive because Reagan would be coming.  I started crying and I'm starting to get chocked up just typing about it right now---- What is wrong with me?! Pull it together Carolyn!

Looking forward to: The last 9 weeks of pregnancy!  Praying for smooth and a safe 9 weeks!

Funny story:
So I was at my doctors appointment being weighed and I guess my Itune's opened on my phone.  I heard the song and started to panic because it wasn't the most appropriate song.  I started fumbling through my purse to quickly turn it off..... well I didn't get to in time.  Right in the middle of the doctors office you heard (on full blast), "2 Chainz!" I'm not sure how long it played, I was in such a panic to turn it off.  I was pretty embarrassed.  The nurse just started laughing and said, "Don't worry about it- I listen to Kid Rock on my way to work!" Good times :)

Cindy's Wedding!

Cindy and Chris got married on November 17 at the City Club in Fort Worth.

Cindy is one of my sorority sisters from Tech.  We became friends our freshman year.  From that point, Kristen, Megan, Andrea, Cindy, and I were always hanging out.  Cindy is hilarious!  I love her sense of humor and always enjoy her company.  Anytime I have a crazy idea, I know I can count on Cindy to be my partner in crime.  Cindy is caring, funny, honest, intellegent, creative and all around great friend.  I'm so lucky to have her in my life!

How they met:
Sometime in the spring of 2008, I had seen Chris out with some of our friends at J Gills.  I thought to myself, "Hmmm... he would be cute with Cindy."  So, I began scheming with Rustin and Jerry.  Chris and Cindy finally met that summer at 8.0's.  The stars aligned and they really hit it off!

Fast forward to June 17, 2012- Chris recreated their first date and popped the question!  Chris and Cindy make a great couple.  They are always a good time and their love is obvious.  I'm so happy for you!  Congratulations to Chris, Cindy, and Chewy!

Here are some pictures:

 Cool socks!

Handfasting was part a part of their ceremony.   The pastor wrapped their hands in ribbon.  It symbolized the union of husband and wife.  I thought this was beautiful.
Cindy also surprised Chris by having a bag piper lead them out of the ceremony.  It was really neat!
First dance:

 Cindy's awesome sprinkle cake!
One of my favorite parts of going to weddings:
Dance Party!
The Bruce's

Congrats to Chris and Cindy!  Your wedding was beautiful!

3rd Trimester!

Well, we are in the 3rd trimester!  It's crazy how fast time goes!

Reagan update:
Reagan weighs roughly around 2.9 pounds.  At this point she is able to recognize both my voice and Jerry's voice.  She has also developed her taste buds.  Her new talents include coughing, sucking, and even breathing.  Additionally, her eyes are now starting to open.  She is most active at nights after dinner.  Jerry was able to feel her kick for the first time on Valentine's Day.  That was pretty exciting.  It's fun to watch my stomach when she's moving around.  Sometimes, I think to myself What in world is going on in there??  I just figure she's having a dance party.

Carolyn Update:

Sleep: I am sleeping well for the most part.  I can't wait to be able to sleep on my stomach again!

Missing anything:  Just the usual

Food Cravings: Sweets and shrimp tacos

Exercise:  still trying to exercise 2-3 times a week.  I try to do the elliptical for 30 minutes and lift weights for 30 minutes.  Some weeks are better than others.

Food Aversions: not really

Symptoms: Is being super clumsy count as a symptom?

Have you started to show yet: yes

Happy or Moody: happy!!
Looking forward to: Maternity pictures and Spring Break!

Last week, Amanda and I went to consignment sale by Rhea Lana.  My sister told me about it so I figured I would go.  Well I ended up buying this bad boy for $50.  It's a jogging stroller.  It's not a fancy one, but I figured for $50 it would work.  Besides, I'm no marathon runner.  There is no need for me to get a fancy one.

I also bought Reagan a bunch of bows, tights, and socks.  Oh and how could I forget... Reagan got her first pair of high heals!  Watch out!
Amanda got a maternity dress, a baby monitor, and a swing.  I had a great time with Amanda.  I'm so excited that Reagan will have Baby Brunson and Easton to hang out with!  I wonder who will be next to announce there baby on the way.  ;)

Additionally, we had a great weekend with Larry, Jerry's Dad.  He came into the town on Thursday from Virginia.  We got to spend time with all of Jerry's cousins, grandmother, and Aunt Francis.
I was also able to meet Mary Kristeen Peterson over the weekend. Mary is Jerry's cousin's baby.  She is so sweet!  This a picture of Mamaw (Jerry's grandmother) holding Mary.  Mary is actually named after Mamaw.  It was so great spending time with family!

And last but not least the dogs-  The dogs are doing well!  They are enjoying the normal day to day pleasures which include eating, sunning, chasing squirrels, and snuggling.

Here is a picture of Rowdy- He loves hanging out in my garden :/

I hope everyone has a great week!

99 more days!!!

That's right!!! We are in the double digits!! 99 more days until Reagan is here!

Reagan update:
Reagan is growing and growing!  She now weighs 2 pounds.  In the past few weeks her face has fully formed and she has began to open her eyes.  Her nostrils are also open.  This week her major activities include sucking and gasping.  She's also moving around alot.  I notice it the most at night when I'm watching TV.  I went to a Step Show this past weekend and they played loud music.  Every time the music played she would move around- I think she was dancing.

Carolyn update:

Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty well.  Occasionally, I'll wake up at 2 or 3 and struggle to go back to sleep.
Missing anything: sushi
Food Cravings: Still have a major sweet tooth

Exercise: I'm trying to still work out 2-3 times a week.

Food Aversions: Nope

Symptoms: none that I can think of

Have you started to show yet: yep

Happy or Moody: Happy :)

Looking forward to: Starting my 3rd trimester on Monday!

We have all been super busy trying to get the room put together.  My mom has done an AMAZING job making the bedding.  I'm not going to reveal the final product, but here are some sneak peeks!

The bed skirt:
 Working hard!

 Maggie- my mom's assistant

My mom worked so hard and the final product looks amazing!   Reagan is one lucky lady!  Thank you Mom for you hours and hours of work!  You really out did yourself!

Jerry has also been hard at work. A few weeks ago we ventured to Ikea and purchased a chandelier and dresser.  Jerry worked really hard and painted the dresser the same color as the chevron stripes.

Jerry loves it when I take his picture.... not

Lastly, Jane and Glenn decided that they wanted to buy us a glider.  It's perfect!  I love it!  Thank you so much Jane and Glenn!  This is the picture from Babies R Us.

Needless to say, the room is coming together!  We are still working on the finishing and touches.

Reagan's Room

Well Jerry has truly out done himself and created a beautiful room!  I was going to wait and post the finished product, but I just have to show off Jerry's hard work.  Here are some pictures:

This is the before:

We first began our adventure by choosing a fabric.  This was my job.  After searching at JoAnn's and Hobby Lobby, I decided to go to the internet.  I finally found the exact fabric I wanted-
Next up, find a fabric that would go with it.  I decided to go to Cabbage Rose.  Here is what I came up with:
I love the pink chevron!

Next stop, Home Depot for paint.  Just an FYI, the color match does not match fabric very well.  After several trips to Home Depot, we finally found what we wanted.

Jerry first painted 3 walls aqua and one wall off white:

Rowdy also assisted:

Tape Time--- Jerry tapped for hours!

After measuring, cutting tape, and taping it to the wall it was finally time to paint!

Finally, after so much hard work, the wall is revealed!!  It looks absolutely amazing!!!

Jerry was on a roll so he decided to put the crib together too.

This project took several days to complete and a great deal of hard work!  Jerry never once complained.  In fact, he was quite the opposite.  He was excited and seemed to really enjoy the project.  Reagan and I are so lucky to have such an amazing man in our lives!

Weeks 20-23

Well we are half way there!!! Can you believe it???

We are so excited!  I'm really starting to feel Reagan move around.  It's the strangest feeling and I LOVE IT!
Reagan update:
  • We went in for our regular 4 week check up and Reagan is looking good.  Here is a picture of her looking at you.

  • She is getting so big! The sonogram technician said that her leg is 10 cm long (about the size an iPhone) Her body is about the size of a papaya.
  • In the past 3 weeks she has developed her sense of touch and has grown hair on her head.  I wonder if she'll be a blondie or brunette.  I'm thinking she'll have blonde hair.
  • Sometimes it feels like shes doing somersaults in my belly--- Will she be the next Gabby Douglas?
  • Dr. Glenn says she is right on track for growth and development.

Carolyn's update:

Sleep: I'm sleeping like a baby!

Missing anything: Not really.

Food Cravings: Sweets, sweets, and more sweets.  However, I was like that before I was pregnant :)

Exercise: I'm trying to still work out 2-3 times a week.  I was so busy this past week, that I was only able to exercise once :(

Food Aversions: Nope

Symptoms: none that I can think of

Have you started to show yet: yep

Happy or Moody: Happy :)

Looking forward to: Getting the room put together

Jerry has been Super Dad and has already painted Reagan's room!  This will be my next post.
