7 months!

Reagan is 7 months old!!! Can you believe it?!

She is such a happy girl!  This picture was taken at 6:30 AM.  She is quite the morning person!

 

 This month we have had several first!  We tried baby food for the first time and she loves it!

 This is a picture of Lauren, Luke, and Reagan.  Lukiedoo was a little upset that his Mommy was holding another baby.  hehe

 

This is a comparison picture of newborn Reagan at the hospital and Reagan at 6 1/2 months.  In the hospital it was way to big.  Now it barely fits!  Growing baby girl!

 This is Mary and Reagan playing.  Mary is Jerry's cousin's daughter.  So cute!  I'm so glad Reagan and Mary are so close in age!

Eat: Reagan started eating fruits this month!  She has tried applesauce, bananas, peaches, pears, and prunes.  She loves them all!  In fact, if I'm too slow to get food to her, she will slap the table!!  hehe!

 

Play:  Reagan LOVES to play!  Her favorite toys include Sophie the Giraffe, her pink rattle, and her toy car keys.  She also loves to chase the Ipad.  When we are facetiming Karen and Larry we have to keep the IPad away from her because she accidently presses end.  Reagan has also started to bite!  She has to bottom teeth and she's not afraid to use them!!! 

 

Tricks/ Discoveries/ Sounds:  Reagan has discovered the Christmas tree and all the presents below it!  She loves to crawl over to the tree and touch all the wrapped gifts.  She is soooo curious.  She wants to be into EVERYTHING!  Reagan is now a professional sitter!  She also has started putting sounds together.  I love it when she talks to us! 

 

Accomplishments:  We have gotten rid of the pacifier at home!  I'm not going to lie-- this was a challenge.  We decided it was time because she was waking up 3-4 times a night wanting the pacifier.  The first couple of days were tough, but she's doing really well without it!

 

Sleep:  The past week she has been waking up around 2 and wanting to be snuggled.  We think it's because she's teething. 

 

Reagan,

 

You are BEST!  Every night your Dad and I talk about how amazing you are.  You make life so much better!  We love playing with you and giving you snuggles.  We love when you give us a big gummy smile and buzz your lips.  We are so grateful for you and we thank God for you every day!  We love you!

 

6 months!

Reagan is 6 months!  I say this every month, but how can this be!! Time goes by sooooooo fast!!! This age is super fun!

We have teeth!! If you look closely you can see them!!

Facts about Reagan:

Weight: 15 pounds 14 oz.  She used to be in the 90th percentile.  Now she is average.  I was a little worried, but Dr. Rassmussen said this is normal.  With her playing so much, she is burning more calories. 

Height: 25.59 inches (average)

 

Eating:

This month we have started to eat cereal!  We mix it with apple juice and she loves it!!!  She eats it twice a day!  She still has her milk 6 times a day. 

 

Play:

Reagan LOVES to play!  She still loves hanging out in the exersaucer, but only when we are with her.  She does not like it when we walk away or clean the kitchen.  She also loves playing on the floor when there are a bunch of toys.  This girl can play!  Miss Lindsi and Miss Jade are always talking about how surprised they are about her stamina.  What can I say, she's a party animal!

 

Tricks/Discoveries/ Sounds:

Reagan loves to scream when she is excited.  It's really cute!  Sometimes she surprises herself.  She has started reaching for everything!  If Jerry and I have it in our hands, she wants it.  She especially likes our phones.  She has also started reaching for Lucy and Rowdy.  They are still a little nervous about her, but she is fearless.  She is also sitting up by herself.  She's still a bit wobbly, but she can sit up for a good 10 seconds by herself. 

 

Sleep:

Well.... we could stand to improve a little in this area.  Lately she has been waking up 2-3 times a night wanting to be held or her pacifier.  This is getting a bit old....I can't wait for the day when I get to sleep 7 hours straight without any interruptions. 

 

 

Reagie-roo,

 

I love you sooooooo much.  You are just so perfect.  Everything you do makes me smile!  I love it when I catch your eye and you smile at me.  These past 6 months have been the best ever.   You are such a sweetie and I feel lucky to get to spend time with you everyday!  I love you!

Reagan's first school assignment- Family Ties!

Reagan has her first school assignment!!! I was so excited!  Maybe a little too excited! 

 

Here is the assignment:

Miss Lindsi is teaching a unit on family.  Each family was given a tie.  Our job was to decorate a tie (picture below) with things about our family.  When we finished the tie it would be added to a turkey.  Each tie represents a feather. 

 

Jerry was either really tired or really concentrating on how he wanted to decorate the tie.  Rowdy was his assistant.  

Both of us were pretty excited, so we decided to make up a little competition.  I would decorate a tie and Jerry would decorate a tie.  We would take a picture of it and send it to family and friends. 

 

Jerry and I went to our separate corners and this is what we came up with.  The one of the right is mine and the left is Jerry's.  Just an FYI, the brown things on the right are not baseball mitts.  It's supposed to be a turkey. 

 

Well.... the results were tallied and I won!  Hooray!  On Sunday we started the assignment.  Turns out it is REALLY hard to get a 6 month old's hand print.  Jerry, Reagan, and I probably looked like the 3 Stooges!

Dallas Arboretum!

This past month we went with the Brunson's to the Dallas Arboretum.  It was really fun!  I'm so glad Reagan and Mackenlie are going to grow up together!

5 months!

My baby is 5 months!!!! 5 months is sooooo fun!

She has really started playing and interacting with us.  Whenever she wakes up, she gives a big smile!  I just love it!

So here are some facts about my Reagie Bear:

 

Eating- Reagan continues to be a champion when it comes to eating.  She's like clockwork.  During the day she eats every 3-3 1/2 hours.  At night she has her dream feed around 10ish and usually she doesn't eat until 5:30-6. 

 

Playing- Reagan LOVES to play!  She continues to love the exersaucer and likes it when we lay a quilt out with a bunch of toys.  It's so cute, whenever she wants a toy she just rolls over towards it.  She also loves to grab things including Daddy's glasses, Mommy's phone, and food. 

 

Tricks/ Discoveries-

Reagan has discovered she has feet!!  She loves to put her feet in her mouth. 

 

She's also started rolling over from back to front and front to back.  It's really cute. 

The other morning we heard this buzzing sound and were both like what is that??  Turns out it was our little Angel Pie.  She has learned to buzz her lips. 

 

 

Sleep-  Reagan's sleeping schedule is awesome 90% of the time.  This past week we tried to cut out the dream feed.  Let's just say she is not ready for that yet!  However, when we give her the dream feed she will sleep the entire night and wake up between 5:15 and 6.  Occasionally, she'll wake up wanting her pacifier.  Usually, we just give her the pacifier, a few pats, and call it good.  She will typically go back to sleep at that point.  

 

Okay I have to brag.... Reagan went to sleep all by herself 3 times today!  She was doing this around 3 months, but once school started it seemed like she would never go to sleep unless we were holding her.  This past week, I tried to make an extra effort to put her in her crib while she was still awake.  Today we had people over so I decided to be brave and put her in her crib when she was still awake, but drowsy.  I went and checked on her 5 minutes later and she was fast asleep!  I was so proud of her! 

 

Alot has happened this past month. She was sick for the first time:(. I took her in for her 4 month check up on a Wednesday and she had a fever and was throwing up. My mom watched her on Thursday and I stayed home on Friday. Being the overly cautious new mom that I am, I took her to the doctor again on Friday. I'm glad I did because my poor baby had Croup. Croup is a nasty cough that sounds like a bark. It can also cause babies to sound wheezy. It was not fun. Jerry was out of town and so it was just me. It is the worst when your kid is sick. It's sooo sad. I'm not going to lie a few tears were shed by both Reagan and I.

That weekend I decided I deserved an entire bag of Nestle Milk Chocolate Morsels. Can you say stress eating :/

 

This month we also found out that there is a full time spot at Miss Lindsi's Learning Center for the spring!!!! Hooray!  I was starting to get a little stressed about this.  We are really happy with Miss Lindsi and Miss Jade and are grateful that she is taken care of by people that truly love her. 

 

Reagan,

These past 5 months have flown by!  You are getting so big and we love watching you develop and grow.  You are so much fun.  We love your sweet smile and fun sounds.  Our lives have definitely changed for the better.  We love you!

4 Months

I have a four month old!  How can this be?  She is getting so big! 

So a lot has happened this past month.  I have gone back to work and Reagan now goes to Miss Lindsi's full time.  Not going to lie the first couple times I dropped her off were a complete disaster.  I'm talking ugly face cry, can't even speak, and a couple of snorts.  It has gotten better, but it's still tough.  We love Miss Lindsi and Miss Jade and know she is in good hands.

 So here are some facts about Reagan:

Eat- Reagan is still an excellent eater and still on breast milk. 

Play- Reagan LOVES the exersaucer!  She loves to push the buttons and chew on the dragon.  Jerry and I love the exersaucer because we can actually have a meal and eat at the same time. 

 

Reagan also loves playing on the play mat and sitting in her Bumbo chair.  I've noticed that she will lay in the swing, but she tries to sit up in it. 

Sleep: Right now Reagan goes to sleep around 7:45-8ish.  We are still doing the dream feed around 10:30.  This past week she has started waking up at 1:30 and wants to be held or wants her pacifier. She usually flips over on to her back and doesn't know how to get back on her tummy.  Not going to lie, this is kind of annoying.  Typically, she goes back to sleep and wakes up once or twice before 5:30.  Usually by 5:30 she royally ticked and is ready to eat.  We are moving in the right direction... I think.  I'm not sure what to do about the waking up at 1:30 and wanting the pacifier.  Tips and suggestions are welcome!

This age is so fun!  Reagan is really starting to play and interact with us.  I can't wait to see what the next month brings!

Sometimes I look at you and I feel like my heart will explode.  I love you so much!  You are so sweet and loving.  I love when you rub your face on my shoulder and hold me close.  You are my little buddy and I can't get enough of you!  I love showing you off and talking about you.  You are the best and I love you with all of my heart!  Happy 4 Month Birthday!
